Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
1. Why are cancellation fees charged?
Gavin explains financial arrangements and the cancellation policy at the start of the service so clients are fully informed. When a late cancellation occurs, it prevents Gavin from offering that time to another client who needs it.
These fees (100% for <24hrs, and 50% for 24-48hrs) are in place to ensure the sustainability of Daily Growth Psychology.
Please note: in 2026, the standard session fee is $260 per 50 min session.
Is this policy consistent with ethical standards?
Yes, it is. The Code of Conduct requires psychologists to be honest and transparent in financial arrangements and to obtain financial consent before service. By clearly communicating this policy in the Service Agreement and on the website, we ensure there are no surprises.
3. Do cancellation fees apply to NDIS clients?
Yes, but with specific rules. For NDIS participants, Gavin strictly follows the NDIS Price Guide regarding "Short Notice Cancellations" (typically 100% fee for less than 48 hours notice). He does not charge fees that are inconsistent with organizational rules or funding body requirements.
4. What if I have an emergency and cannot attend?
Gavin understands that emergencies happen. While he generally enforces the policy to be fair to all clients, he considers individual circumstances respectfully and compassionately and will make exemptions where appropriate.
5. How do I cancel my upcoming appointment?
Please contact Daily Growth Psychology as soon as possible via phone and leave a voicemail (0435 012 214) or send an email to contact@dailygrowth.com.au.
Effective communication allows him to potentially offer your slot to someone on the waitlist, which helps facilitate access to services for others.
