About Gavin Duarte
Gavin is an AHPRA-registered Educational and Developmental Psychologist and Board-Approved Supervisor. He completed his Master of Psychology (Educational & Developmental) at the University of Melbourne and has acquired extensive experience across diverse settings, including Headspace, private practice, and the Department of Education. Prior to his current clinical roles, Gavin held leadership positions within Student Support Services, honing his ability to navigate complex support systems.
Gavin adopts a collaborative, client-centred approach, working effectively within multidisciplinary teams to support the unique needs of clients across the lifespan. He is dedicated to providing neuro-affirming and strengths-based care, ensuring that interventions are tailored to the client's bio-psycho-social context. Gavin focuses on bridging the gap between clinical insights and daily functioning, helping clients, families, and allied health professionals implement sustainable support structures.
His clinical expertise includes administering comprehensive psycho-educational assessments and preparing diagnostic reports with personalised recommendations. Gavin also delivers evidence-based therapeutic counselling and crisis intervention for a range of mental health and developmental presentations.
A published researcher in the field of wellbeing education, Gavin additionally serves as a Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA) Supervisor for provisional (e.g. 5+1, or university placements) and early career Psychologists, fostering development and embedding competencies for the next generation of practitioners.
